Time to Step Away

5/4/2010: To-Do List

I knew this was coming. My husband brought it up a few weeks ago when he saw how busy my days have been and how overwhelming it can be sometimes. He encouraged me to at least take the month off from blogging. I swallowed hard. A month doesn’t seem that long, but at the rate that I was writing, that amounted to a lot of posts.

But I know that blogging requires more than just writing, and I realize I have not been able to keep up with all that it entails, including responding to all your wonderful comments. I apologize if I have not responded to you, but know that I appreciate those who have taken the time to comment on my posts.

As much as I enjoy writing and look forward to your visits here and love interacting with you and discussing life, I need to take some time to step away.

Time to reassess. Rearrange. Reprioritize. Lord willing, I’ll only need a month. And I hope to come back refreshed. See you again soon!

  1. This seems to be a theme for all of us lately. I’m going to have t ,slow down too the next couple weeks so I can study for an important exam. Youve gotta do what you have to do and take care of yourself and your family. I’ll miss you for the month you’re away but pray it’s rejuvenating. See you when you return to us ☺

  2. I am glad you are able to step away when you know you need to. Blogging can be consuming. You may need to come up with a scaled back schedule when you return that allows you to blog without being consuming. I’ve had to set realistic expectations for myself, because blogging is not my highest priority in life. I want to be successful at it, but I have small children and their needs can sometimes take over any time I might have for anything else (like a recent prolonged bout of illness). I’ll be looking for you when you atep back. 🙂

  3. It sounds like you know what you need to do and it will be really beneficial for you to take a break. The nice thing about a blogging break is that after the initial detox period, you’re able to devote more time to planning and writing than while trying to post, comment, and read others’ blogs. You’ll enjoy it, I’m sure! 😀

  4. I’ve been slowing down myself. I’ve gone from posting thrice a week to posting twice only. I don’t know if I’m ever gonna rest for a long period like a month or what. I think I’m just moving in my own pace. And of course I’m sure you have thought of your decision and if it’s the best thing, then that’s great 🙂

  5. I think it’s great that you’re taking a break for a while. After all, this is supposed to be fun – not a job. I only post 1-3 times a week. Sometimes THAT seems like too much. 😉 I hope you have a lovely month and get the rest you need!
