Don’t Just Pin It! Do it!

I recently set up a Pinterest account. It was something I’ve been wanting to do to bring some organization to all the internet finds that I have bookmarked. The thing is I don’t want to be merely a “pinner” … I want to be a “doer”. I can potentially go overboard with pinning all the yummy recipes, great household tips, and creative DIY projects. But what’s the point of having so many ideas pinned if I don’t actually try any of them? So, in keeping with the theme of this blog, I want to “make the most” of my pins.

A recipe for Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars is one that I had found a long time ago. It caught my eye because … well, it’s Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars!

I like cheesecake, but sometimes, it can get a little too rich for my taste. I actually prefer cheesecake bars because the layer of cheesecake is thinner, and the consistency of it is a bit more firm than a traditional cheesecake. When I was in college, there was a bakery on campus that I would frequent just to buy a small cheesecake bar on my way to class. And that was my lunch. Hey, I was young and poor; my diet consisted of junk food and coffee, and I was good.

This particular recipe reminds me of the one from my college days, except with the added twist of a cookie baked right on top of it. The crunch of the cookie mixed in with the soft smoothness of the cheesecake is heavenly!

So there it is! I gave one of my pins a try. How about you? Are you an avid pinner? Care to join me in bringing some pins to life? I would love to hear about it!

  1. Oh, I as well am really good at “pinning” and really bad at actually “doing!” These bars look delicious though. I am glad you finally tried one with good results! 🙂

    1. When you have little ones around, it can be challenging to find enough time to try out some of our pins. I volunteered to bring dessert to a family Fathers’ Day gathering, so that gave me the extra motivation to look through some untouched pins and try out the cheesecake bars.

  2. I’m a sporadic pinner. Mostly around the holidays, but good for you trying out the cookie dough bars! They look yummy! My daughter, who loves all things cookie dough, would absolutely love those! 🙂

    1. Try the recipe out! They’re really yummy! I had to cut the pieces even smaller than pictured to keep myself from eating too much, but I just ended up popping 2 or 3 at a time in my mouth. 🙂
